SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Hours of Work:  30 - 40 Hours per week

Summary:  Oversee The Game Capital’s interactions with the public through implementing content strategies on social media platforms. Their duties include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions and planning digital campaigns to build community online.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain the company website, TheGameCapital.com

    • Update Staff Game Picks

    • Add blogs post about events and products in-store

    •  

  • Developing and curating engaging content for TheGameCapital.com and social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google Business, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitch, Discord)

    • Create and edit written, video, and photo content.

    • Attend events and produce live social media content.

    • Utilize Instagram and Facebook Lives, Insta stories, etc. about products and events.

  • Using social media marketing tools to create and maintain the company’s brand

    • Maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels.

    • Monitor online posts that mention the company so they can mediate the impact of negative reviews and share positive testimonials with their current following to strengthen customer relationships.

  • Interacting with customers via the company’s social media accounts

    • Use posts, comments and replies to engage with their audience and develop a relatable company voice

  • Working with staff to develop social media marketing campaigns

    • Delegate content creation tasks to other employees

  • Increasing brand awareness through the effective use of social media outlets.

    • Assist company owners and staff with building the Live Breaks Twitch brand by using social media such as Tiktok, Youtube, Snapchat, etc.

  • Researching social media trends and informing management of changes that are relevant to the company’s marketing activities

  • Analyzing the company’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy and identifying strategic weaknesses and making recommendations for improvements

    • Studying which aspects of campaigns result in the highest engagement and conversions

    • Assisting the company owners in reviewing analytics and creating reports on key metrics.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, a related field or equivalent combination of education work experience preferred.

  • 1 year experience with B2C social media marketing or content development preferred.

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools.

  • Computer skills in using social media platforms and skills in using tools that analyze social media platforms

    • Use digital technologies to meet the goals of social media campaigns. 

    • Direct experience using social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprinklr.)

    • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML.

  • The ability to use social media to maintain and build company’s brand

    • Regularly post text, video and images that engage the company’s target market, follow online conversations on a company’s social media accounts and solve customer concerns using social media platforms. 

  • Great verbal and written communication skills

    • Must interact with customers and report to senior management personnel

    • Identify social media events such as an interesting hashtag or a sensitive topic and share appropriate content that aligns with the company’s social media strategy.  

  • Creativity.

    • Craft engaging content

    • Strong copywriting and copy editing skills.

    • Align content with customer trends and market changes to interest and engage people. 

  • Research skills 

    • Learn social media trends and identifying new social media tools

    • An understanding of the trends and techniques of social media as well as the company’s online presence


  • Time management

    • Organize tasks to meet deadlines

    • Work according to schedules (event and product release dates)

 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook.)

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro.) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • This position operates in a variety of environments from a professional office environment to the sales floor and warehouse.  As such a variety of functions such as lifting, bending, stooping, crouching and sitting are required.

  • Full upper body range of motion.

  • Will work in a climate controlled environment with little exposure to variations in temperature.
